Seattle Sounders 3-1 Minnesota United

The Seattle Sounders took on Minnesota United at a rainy Lumen Field on Sunday afternoon.

After a very fast paced start in the first 15 minutes, the game slowed down as both teams exchanged chances.

Stefan Frei came up with some big saves in the first half to keep the Sounders at level pegging.

Jordan Morris had the chance of the first half for the Sounders as he was put in behind by a fantastic through ball from Raul Ruidiaz, but he couldn't slot it home.

The Sounders would rue those missed chances as soon after, Minnesota United would take the lead in the 34th minute after a slip from Nouhou and Robin Lod pounced on the mistake as the Sounders headed into the break down 1-0.

Early in the second half the Sounders would earn a penalty as Christian Roldan was taken down, and Raul Ruidiaz put the spot kick away to tie the game at 1-1 in the 50th minute.

After tying it up, the Sounders would pepper the Minnesota goal with chance after chance trying to find the go-ahead goal.

The moment of magic would come from Cristian Roldan as he picked up a ball just outside the Minnesota penalty area and fired home a sensational finish into the top corner from 25 yards out to give the Sounders the 2-1 lead in the 74th minute.

Roldan would get involved again as he put a great cross in for Nicolas Lodeiro and the Sounders captain would slot it home to seal the 3-1 victory for the home side, a fitting end to a man of the match performance from the Sounders midfielder.
