Two WHL rivals with strong hockey roots within the Puget Sound will clash at Climate Pledge Arena on Saturday, when the Seattle Thunderbirds host the Everett Silvertips in the "Battle of the Sound," starting at 6pm.

The night will mark the first WHL game in the venue in over a decade, when the Thunderbirds previously skated in the same building before relocating to Kent.

A clash between two WHL powers as well who boast strong hockey development ties, the Silvertips hold first place in the U.S. Division and top win percentage in the league, at 35-7-3-5 under general manager/head coach Dennis Williams.

The Thunderbirds, enjoying a resurgent season under head coach Matt O'Dette, are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games with a 30-12-4-1 record. Though holding third place in the top-heavy division, their strong season has catapulted them 30 points ahead of fourth place Tri-City.

Before the game, both O'Dette and Williams had a conversation with Kraken Audio Network host Mike Benton.

Live radio coverage of the game will be carried with the 6pm PT puck drop on 950 AM KJR.
