A stretch of back-to-back games starts tonight, when the Kraken visit the regional rival Vancouver Canucks in the third matchup of the season, 7pm at Rogers Arena (950 KJR / Kraken Audio Network).
The Kraken have lost six of eight games around the All-Star break, looking to salvage a win in three tries on the three-game trip that ends tonight. Tomorrow's home game against the New York Islanders will end three games in four days while a Thursday home game against Boston awaits, finishing five games in seven days.
Former Canucks forward Jared McCann, enjoying a career year with 20 goals to lead the Kraken, is expected to play in the 400th game of his NHL career tonight.
Vancouver lost their last meeting, 7-4 to Anaheim on Saturday, marking the second time in three home games they fell behind 5-0. They hired Bruce Boudreau as new head coach in December and went on a 9-0 run in their next nine games, but have tailed off at 6-7-3 since defeating the Kraken, 5-2 on New Year's Day in Seattle.
The Canucks are led by J.T. Miller's 18 goals and 51 points.
