Cal Petersen made 17 saves and Phillip Danault scored a pair of goals to help the Los Angeles Kings hold off the Seattle Kraken, 3-1 on Saturday before a sold out crowd at Climate Pledge Arena.
The Kraken, who got a rebound goal by Marcus Johansson on a second period power play, fell to 0-8-1 in the last nine games. Their next opportunity to snap the skid will come Monday in a 2pm matinee at Climate Pledge Arena against the visiting Chicago Blackhawks (950 KJR / Kraken Audio Network).
Adrian Kempe scored on a rebound at 4:06 of the first period while Danault extended the Kings lead to 2-0 on a third chance rebound at 4:10 of the second period, before Johansson's fourth point in four games.
Danault added an empty netter with 45 seconds left. Chris Driedger made 19 saves in net for the Kraken.
