Jaden Schwartz is the latest to the sidelines.

The Seattle Kraken will be without the 11-year NHL veteran forward for awhile, officially ruled out four to six weeks and will have surgery on his hand, the team announced via Twitter on Thursday.

An effective playmaker who is tied for the Kraken lead with 14 assists and is second with 20 points in 29 games, Schwartz is also the third most deployed forward on the Kraken this season, averaging 18:28 of ice time per game.

Schwartz has not been seen on ice since the Kraken 3-2 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Dec. 29 and was ruled out of action, day-to-day status before the Kraken returned the next night to face the Calgary Flames, a 6-4 defeat to Calgary at Climate Pledge Arena.

The 29-year old has missed four games this year, including two on Dec. 1 and Dec. 3 with a lower body ailment.

His absence comes ten days after forward Brandon Tanev was announced by the team to miss the remainder of the season, following an ACL injury he suffered Dec. 18 against Edmonton.

The Kraken, who have been off from game action since Jan. 1 due to postponements this week in games against the New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators and Winnipeg Jets, are set to return Monday, Jan. 10 against the host Colorado Avalanche.

The Kraken are still missing defenseman Jeremy Lauzon and forward Alex Wennberg, currently in COVID-19 protocol.
