Rich Davis: “We haven’t played one spring training game yet, and we’re already talking about the playoffs & World Series, but going into the season…the Dodgers are by far the biggest World Series favorite in decades. The Dodgers are +300 to win the World Series, and for those of you that don’t gamble, that’s like the worst bet you could possibly make. That’s the book insinuating that the Dodgers repeating will be easy breezy. Dodgers win the World Series, bet $100 and win $300. That’s terrible odds for a futures bet!”
Steve Covino: “You have to give credit to the owners and the GM’s, they’re not just spending money, I think they’re making great moves. I think they’re creating great teams. In the past, we realize that great players don’t equal playoffs or championships…you need team chemistry. You can’t just piece together some Frankenstein team together with big names.”
Filling in for Dan Patrick, Steve Covino & Rich Davis provided a quick preview of the upcoming MLB season, talking about the Dodgers being overwhelming favorites, whether or not spending money guarantees a playoff spot, and some dark horses that can challenge the perceived favorites!
