The Los Angeles Dodgers and free agent left-handed starting pitcher Blake Snell have reportedly agreed to a five-year, $182 million contract, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN's Jeff Passan and Jorge Castillo Tuesday (November 26) night.

Snell, 31, a two-time Cy Young Award winner, will reportedly be a frontline starter for a Dodgers rotation that is weeks removed from winning the 2024 World Series by relying heavily on its bullpen due to injuries.

"Left-hander Blake Snell and the Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement on a five-year, $182 million contract, pending physical, sources tell me and @jorgecastillo. The World Series champions get the two-time Cy Young winner in the first nine-figure deal of the winter," Passan wrote on his X account.

Snell's reported $182 million agreement would be the third largest for a left-handed pitcher in MLB history, trailing only David Price's 2015 deal with the Boston Red Sox and new teammate Clayton Kershaw's $215 million deal with the Dodgers in 2014. Los Angeles will also have five contracts exceeding $100 million since the 2023 offseason.

Snell opted out of the final season of a two-year, $62 million deal with the San Francisco Giants, which he signed after a lengthy free agency period last offseason, months after winning his second career Cy Young Award. The Seattle native went 5-3 with a 3.12 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 20 starts and 104.0 innings pitched during his lone season with the Giants in 2024, having previously pitched for the Tampa Bay Rays (2016-2020) and San Diego Padres (2021-2023).
