RENTON -- Seahawks running back Chris Carson was understandably upset at having his leg twisted to the verge of possible serious injury by Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Trysten Hill two weeks ago.
"Kind of like what everybody thought about it," Carson said on Thursday. "I thought it was kind of a bulls--t-ass play, but it is what it is."
Carson had been tackled to the ground by Hill on a fourth quarter run when Hill firmly grasped Carson's leg and did a "gator roll" that resulted in Carson's knee getting injured. Carson immediately grabbed for his knee and left the game without returning.
"Yeah, I was nervous. Of course," Carson said. "I mean, that's one of my injury legs that I had during high school so my first initial reaction was something happened again, you know. I felt a sharp pain. I was relieved once the MRI results came in and said that I was good. Just a sprain and everything like that so I was kind of relieved about that."
Carson managed to play last Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Carson also posted him best game of the season on the ground with 80 yards rushing and two rushing touchdowns.
"I told them I was playing no matter what. That was my mindset," Carson said.
Carson said that Hill did reach out to him after the incident to apologize for the play. Hill was fined $6,522 by the NFL for the play against Carson and another $6,522 for a roughing the passer on Russell Wilson.
"Yeah, he reached out to me," Carson said. "You know, I read it and I appreciate him reaching out and apologizing for everything."
