Sports Classics 101, Day 35: Sonicsgate, Director's Cut

Sports Classics 101, Softy and Dick Fain's masters class on sports history, continues today with an assignment from Jackson featuring the Director's Cut of Sonicsgate: Requiem for a Team, a 2009 documentary film chronicling the history of the Seattle SuperSonics and how the team was stolen. Jason Reid and Adam Brown directed and produced the film that won "Best Sports Film" at the 2010 Webby Awards.

As the duo says on the YouTube movie below, "This film was created by Sonics fans in order to educate the public. This film is in High Definition, Close Captioned and has a soundtrack provided by Seattle area musicians. Visit SONICSGATE.ORG for more info." After just watching the Sonics fall to the Bulls in The Last Dance documentary on Sunday, we remember why Seattle doesn't have an NBA team now with this outstanding documentary.

Get comfortable, grab a drink if you need two, and enjoy the two hour director's cut of the film below!
