Reports: Seahawks signing wide receiver Phillip Dorsett to one-year deal

New York Jets v New England Patriots

The Seattle Seahawks are adding former New England Patriots wide receiver Phillip Dorsett on a one-year deal, according to multiple reports.

Dorsett has spent the last three seasons with the Patriots after initially being selected in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Dorsett is known for his speed having run a 4.33 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine before being drafted by the Colts. He was traded to the Patriots in exchange for quarterback Jacoby Brissett in 2017.

Dorsett is coming off one of his most productive seasons of his career. He caught 29 passes for 397 yards and a career-high five touchdowns last season for New England.

For his career, Dorsett has caught 124 passes for 1,634 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Dorsett will likely slot into the team's third receiver role and provide some additional speed to stretch opposing defenses. He will be competing with David Moore, John Ursua and Malik Turner for a consistent role behind starters Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.
