And there you have it, folks. The Dragons. Seattle's new XFL team, kicking off in February 2020 at CenturyLink Field, as the league makes its return for the first time in nearly two decades, has an official name.
Dragons President Ryan Gustafson announced this morning at a press conference that we will see jerseys sometime around Thanksgiving. The color scheme for Seattle, as you can see from the logos below provided by the XFL, is primarily green and dark blue with an orange/red accent, being the fire coming out of the dragon's mouth.

According to Gustafson, the organization "wanted something unique but represented the entire brand of Seattle." How Dragons connects to Seattle is an interesting question. 2016's "Pete's Dragon" was set in the Pacific Northwest... Seattle's Bruce Lee popularized the "dragon" fighting style of Kung Fu in "Enter the Dragon"... And, well, that might be it. Nonetheless, Seattle's newest team finally has a name, whether you love it or hate it.
Other XFL team names include the St. Louis BattleHawks, Tampa Bay Vipers, DC Defenders, New York Guardians, Los Angeles Wildcats, Houston Roughnecks, and Dallas Renegades. The XFL draft is currently set for October 2019 where Head Coaches will fill their inaugural rosters, including Dragons Head Coach Jim Zorn. According to the XFL, the league will sign eight "leading quarterbacks before its inaugural player draft in October and each team’s Head Coach will select their quarterback just prior to the draft." Former Oklahoma Sooners and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Landry Jones joined the league recently as one of those eight quarterbacks. Former Washington Huskies quarterback Keith Price has reportedly signed with the league as well.
