Sprinter Usain Bolt Turns Into Soccer Star

Many once thought Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt could play in the NFL as a wide receiver, dashing down sidelines past corner-backs, making long receptions and touchdowns. Instead of football, Bolt has chosen and now emerged in the sport of futbol (soccer), for the Central Coast Mariners.

The Mariners, no, not the Seattle Mariners, are an Australian professional soccer club based in Gosford, on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia, competing in the A-League.

Bolt began training for the Mariners in August 2018 as a left-winger. On October 12, Bolt made his first start with the Mariners in a friendly against a South West Select squad. Bolt scored twice, cementing his transition from professional sprinting to soccer. Watch both goals below!
