Justin Britt, Earl Thomas both active, Joey Hunt set to start at center

Minnesota Vikings v Seattle Seahawks

SEATTLE -- Seahawks center Justin Britt is active and will be in uniform against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday despite a right shoulder injury that kept him out of practice all week.

How much Britt will be able to play remains in question.

Britt was injured diving into a pile chasing a fumble by quarterback Russell Wilson in the fourth quarter of last week's game against the Chicago Bears. He was replaced by Joey Hunt for the remaining of the game. Hunt is the team's second option at center and could be called upon heavily against Dallas. The last time Britt missed a game for injury, Hunt started against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2016. Britt was active for that game but did not play. A similar strategy could be employed against the Cowboys.

Hunt was taking first-team reps with Russell Wilson in pregame warmups.

Also active for the game is free safety Earl Thomas.

Thomas was at practice as a spectator but did not take part in the workouts. He also sat out practice on Wednesday - which is a regular occurrence for veterans, particularly after a Monday night game - before returning to practice on Thursday. He then say out again on Friday for the team's final practice of the week.

Carroll said it was an issue of a personal nature that kept Thomas from practicing, but wouldn't go into details.

"He's got some other stuff going on we're working on," Carroll said.

A report by Chris Mortensen of ESPN.com Sunday morning said the team is considering fining Thomas heavily for the missed practices under the guise of conduct detrimental to the team. Thomas apparently was not given clearance to miss though practice, which can typically be fairly standard with veteran players getting at least one rest day during the week.

That doesn't appear to be the case with Thomas. Nevertheless, he is still set to play against the Cowboys this afternoon.

Wide receiver Doug Baldwin (knee), linebacker K.J. Wright (knee) and left guard Ethan Pocic (ankle) are the three inactives out with injuries.

Tre Flowers is back starting at right cornerback after missing last week's game with a hamstring strain. D.J. Fluker is back from a hamstring strain as well and will start at right guard. With Pocic out, Fluker's return allows J.R. Sweezy to move to left guard where he will start for the first time in his career.

Running back C.J. Prosise, safety Delano Hill, guard Jordan Simmons and defensive tackle Poona Ford are the healthy scratches.
