RENTON -- Defensive end Michael Bennett is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
Meanwhile, Cliff Avril was finally placed on injured reserve.
Bennett is expected to play against the Giants. He practiced on Thursday and head coach Pete Carroll said he appeared to be ready to go. Bennett is dealing with a plantar fascia injury sustained two weeks ago against the Los Angeles Rams.
Bennett's presence is that much more vital to Seattle with Avril set to miss at least eight weeks while on injured reserve. Avril's move to IR leaves the Seahawks with an open roster spot for the time being. Seattle will likely make a move to add a 53rd player to the roster on Saturday.
Avril would be eligible to return to practice after six weeks and could be activated the Saturday prior to Seattle's Week 15 game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Cornerback Jeremy Lane is doubtful due to a groin strain. Lane was injured just a few plays into Seattle's Week 4 game against the Indianapolis Colts. He was able to practice for the first time since the injury on Thursday.
Running back C.J. Prosise (ankle), defensive end Marcus Smith (ankle) and defensive tackle Nazair Jones (knee) are all questionable as well.
Safety Earl Thomas has been absent from the team the last few days to attend to a family issue. He is expected to join the team for the game.
