Seahawks draft LSU center Ethan Pocic

RENTON -- With their second selection of the second round on Friday, the Seahawks grabbed LSU center Ethan Pocic with the 58th overall pick.

Pocic was a three-year starter at LSU with 37 career starts (27 at center, 9 at right guard, 1 at right tackle). LSU produced a 1,000-yard rusher in each of his years as a starter.

Pocic also said he played a little at left tackle as well in an emergency situation.

"I'm a versatile guy, so we'll see. I'm not sure yet," Pocic said of where he expects to play for Seattle.

Pocic actually said he compared himself to Seattle center Justin Britt.

"Honestly, as a center, I thought I was kind of like Britt," Pocic said. "He's a taller guy. He's a good athlete. As a center, I kind of compared myself to Britt.

At 6-foot-6, Pocic is tall for a center. It would seem likely that Seattle would project Pocic more as a guard in their system.

Pocic said he never spoke to Seattle offensive line coach Tom Cable during the draft process.
