Seahawks trade Marshawn Lynch to Raiders

Marshawn Lynch is now a member of the Oakland Raiders.

Lynch agreed to terms on a revised contract with the Raiders on Wednesday and the two teams worked out a deal to traded the 31-year old former Seahawks running back to the Raiders.

The trade involves a swap of late-round draft picks next year. Seattle will receive the Raiders' fifth-round pick in exchange for the Seahawks' sixth-round selection.

Lynch was given permission to speak with the Raiders about coming out of retirement last month. His tenure with Seattle had been over for a year ever since he announced his retirement on Twitter during the second half of Super Bowl 50. The Seahawks have moved on from Lynch and any thought of Lynch coming out of retirement to play for Seattle again was a pipe dream.

What exactly the Raiders will be getting is completely unknown. Lynch was injured for most of his final season in Seattle and managed just 417 yards on 111 carries with three touchdowns before a sports hernia issue required surgery. He carried just six times for 20 yards in Seattle's playoff loss at Carolina.

There's no real way to know how much Lynch has left at this point.

But Lynch now gets the chance to play for his hometown NFL team, at least until they move to Las Vegas.
