Seahawks sign LB Arthur Brown, visit with Ryan Clady

The Seahawks have signed former New York Jets linebacker Arthur Brown and are taking a look at tackle Ryan Clady as well.

The NFL league transaction wire listed Brown's signing on its daily report for Friday.

Brown had appeared in 48 games over the last four seasons for the Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars and Jets. He has never started a game and has been primarily a special teams performer in his various stops.

Brown gives Seattle some additional depth at linebacker following Brock Coyle's departure to the San Francisco 49ers. Starting strong-side linebacker Mike Morgan also remains a free agent, leaving a vacancy at Seattle's third linebacker spot.

Brown has compiled 20 tackles and forced one fumble.

Additionally, Field Yates of ESPN.com reported Seattle is hosting Clady, Brown's former Jets teammate, on Friday.

Clady has dealt with serious injuries in recent years after twice being named a first-team All-Pro and earning four Pro Bowl selections during his time with the Denver Broncos.

Clady appeared in just two games in 2013 (lisfranc), missed all of 2015 with a torn ACL and was limited to just nine games last year (shoulder).

The Jets declined an option for 2017 on Clady's contract, which made him an unrestricted free agent. Clady has started 106 of 107 total games in the NFL

Seattle could still use additional veteran help on the offensive line. Signing Luke Joeckel last week was the only move they've made so far on the line. Guard T.J. Lang turned down a Seattle offer to sign with the Detroit Lions after visiting earlier this week.

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle also reported the Seahawks have signed former Jets and Houston Texans guard Oday Aboushi to a one-year deal.

Aboushi has appeared in 26 games with 18 starts over four seasons for the Jets and Texans. He started 10 games for the Jets in 2014, five for Houston in 2015 and three games last year.
