Report: Seahawks to sign former Jaguars OL Luke Joeckel

The Seattle Seahawks have begun the process of augmenting their offensive line with the start of free agency on Thursday.

According to multiple reports, the Seahawks are set to sign former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive lineman Luke Joeckel. The one-year deal is reportedly worth up to $8 million.

Joeckel was the No. 2 overall pick of the 2013 draft and played the last four seasons under former Seattle defensive coordinator Gus Bradley in Jacksonville.

Joeckel appeared in just four games for the Jaguars last season before being placed on injured reserve after suffering ACL, MCL and meniscus injuries in his knee. Joeckel also missed most of his rookie season in 2013 after suffering a fractured ankle five games into the year.

Joeckel began as a right tackle in Jacksonville before being moved to left tackle. The Jaguars moved him again to left guard last season before the knee injury ended his year.

Joeckel has appeared in 39 games over four seasons in Jacksonville.

In addition, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that former Green Bay Packers guard T.J. Lang is expected to visit the Seahawks and Detroit Lions in the coming days.

Chasing running backs:

After having 11 different running backs carry the football last season, the Seahawks are clearly looking for help at running back.

The Seahawks are reportedly looking at former Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, former Oakland Raiders running back Latavius Murray and former Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy.

The lack of durability between Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise last year left Seattle woefully thin at running back. The multiple options at running back the Seahawks are looking at in free agency clearly shows a desire to get better, or at least more durable, in the backfield.

Steven Hauschka signs with Buffalo:

It seemed inevitable once the Seahawks signed Blair Walsh, but it's not official. The Steven Hauschka era in Seattle is over.

Hauschka signed a four-year deal with the Buffalo Bills on Thursday.

Hauschka has kicked in every regular season game for Seattle over the last six seasons.
