Doug Baldwin, Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett announced the return of a sports celebrity basketball game hosted at Climate Pledge Arena. As proclaimed by Champions of Change last year, the goal is for the basketball game to become an annual event, highlighting Seattle athletes and their causes, but primarily to generate revenue for change-making non-profits in the Puget Sound region.
In its inaugural year, the all-star game brought together Seattle sports legends such as Gary Payton, Sue Bird and Marshawn Lynch, with announcers Joel McHale and Kevin Calabro, and the courtside seats filled with countless Seattle sports stars. The fundraising weekend resulted in more than $500,000 in grants for community organizations.
