The Seattle Kraken have returned defenseman Cale Fleury and goaltender Joey Daccord to the American Hockey League, reassigned on Thursday to the affiliate Charlotte Checkers.

Fleury and Daccord have spent parts of April with the Kraken, receiving playing time down the stretch with the Kraken due to wrap up their season on May 1 and the Checkers idle through a first-round bye of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Fleury, who will go back to Charlotte as their regular season leading scorer among all defensemen, had 33 points in 58 games at the AHL level this season. Originally called up on Apr. 5, he is scoreless in nine games with the Kraken, and was originally selected from the Montreal Canadiens originally in last summer’s expansion draft.

Daccord returned from Charlotte to suit up in a 5-2 loss at Vancouver on Tuesday as the Kraken fell behind 2-0 in the first three minutes of the game. He made 22 saves.

Daccord, 25, was the Kraken expansion draft pick from the Ottawa Senators last summer. His .925 save percentage is second in the AHL, setting a new Checkers single season record. He is 19-11-2 at the AHL level and has gone 0-4 in five appearances with the Kraken this season.

Fleury suited up in 12:59 of ice time along with a shot on goal and blocked shot in Wednesday night’s 5-3 loss to the Los Angeles Kings. Daccord was scratched from the game behind starting goaltender Philipp Grubauer and backup Chris Driedger.

The Kraken, 26-48-6 with two games left, will wrap their home schedule on Friday against San Jose at 7pm PT (93.3 KJR / Kraken Audio Network) and their inaugural season on Sunday, 11am PT at Winnipeg.
