The Seattle Seahawks have set their initial roster after mandatory league cutdowns to the 53-man roster limit on Tuesday.
Seattle's roster sits officially at 52 players as they wait to make the addition of cornerback Sidney Jones in trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars to become official once he passes a physical with the team.
The Seahawks made 29 total roster moves to get down to the roster limit.
Veterans defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche, cornerback Damarious Randall and guard Jordan Simmons had their contracts terminated. Meanwhile, 26 players in total were waived.
Cornerback John Reid, who was acquired in a trade from the Houston Texans last week, was among the players waived. Seattle got Reid from the Texans in exchange for a conditional draft pick. The conditions of the trade were reported by Brady Henderson of ESPN.com to be Reid needing to appear in six games for Seattle to satisfy the conditions of the trade.
Also waived by Seattle were: defensive tackle Myles Adams, tight end Ian Bunting, tackle Tommy Champion, safety Aashari Crosswell, linebacker Aaron Donkor, guard Greg Eiland, wide receiver Aaron Fuller, wide receiver Penny Hart, cornerback Gavin Heslop, defensive tackle Jarrod Hewitt, guard Jared Hocker, wide receiver Cade Johnson, running back Josh Johnson, guard Pier-Olivier Lestage, center Brad Lundblade, tight end Tyler Mabry, safety Josh Moon, linebacker Jon Rhattigan, wide receiver Darece Roberson, cornerback Will Sunderland, tight end Cam Sutton, wide receiver Cody Thompson, wide receiver Travis Toivonen, wide receiver Connor Weddington and linebacker Lakiem Williams.
